Halloween Wreath

This is my latest Halloween Craft

So simple to make! I bought a green foam wreath at Michaels with my half off coupon.(they're also available at Walmart, in white, for $4.50)
You will need 6 yards total of tulle
I bought 4 yards regular black
1 yard of black netting tulle
1 yard of purple tulle
*if you are hanging it with tulle, you will also need another 1/2 yard of your choice

~Spray paint the wreath black
~Cut the tulle in strips between 2-3 inches
(I cut it width wise)
~Fold each strip in half twice
~Pull the looped end under the wreath and pull the other end through the loop
~Adjust the knot to the outside of the wreath and continue around the wreath
~Every 3rd or 4th strand, use the bigger netting to give texture
(I made the strands shorter and didn't double them so they would stick out beyond the other tulle)
~Cut the purple tulle in short strips and place wherever you would like to have the stripes
~ I got my spider at Shopko last year on clearance, be creative and embellish with what you like!
I hope these directions are somewhat clear! Next time I'll try to take step by step pictures..

Happy Easter!

These are my (simple) Easter decorations for 2011
I decided to go with a blue theme in my small entry. I have the wreath up for a few holidays because I love it so much!

The wreath is made from old books and put together like a pinata. My husband says it looks like a bunch of garbage.. What does he know eh?

I Got all of this stuff, including the cupboard, second hand.(excluding the picture of course)
I try to put new pictures in this frame for every holiday. It is so fun to include my growing son in my decorating. I'm a huge fan of surrounding myself with the things I love and what do I love more than my little guy and my husband?
My mantle... Sorry its so dark, I should have taken a picture at a better time of day!
The only "craft" I made for Easter this year. I got a chip board Basket at the scrapbook store, Added some paint and Scrapbook paper and ta da! I filled it with painted chip board eggs.

What I'm looking forward to...

My VERY favorite hobby is working in my yard and my Very favorite season is SPRING so therefore my favorite flowers are SPRING Flowers (especially tulips)
These first 2 pictures are of the first year our yard was finished so the flowers are a little more sparse.

This picture (below) is last year, things have filled in much better. I'm looking forward to seeing them all THIS year!

Christmas is next....

These pictures are from a couple years ago.
I wanted to keep my mantle simple with an emphasis on our Savior.

Our Santa tree. I have been collecting Santa Claus ornaments ever since just after we were married. I LOVE my slim line tree. It doesn't take up much space, but it's appealing to the eye (in my opinion) ;)

My THANKSGIVING decorations...

Ok guys, I guess I have to have a starting point and these pictures are the first ones I came across. I got a few new things this year and a few new Ideas also! I took some of my decorations to a service auction in my ward (I was in charge of decorating) and a few people tried to buy my stuff! Sorry ladies, NOT FOR SALE.. :)

I grew these pumpkins for Halloween and they looked darling around one of my flower beds but I decided to bring them in and change their color. Then I added a little flare..

I found this pumpkin (the metal one) at the DI for 2 bucks!
Kind of a funny story... I basically talked another lady out of buying it by telling my mom (really loud so the lady could hear) Those are cute but way hard to decorate with.... So she put it down and I SNAGGED IT! Later that lady came up to me and said "that is such a cute pumpkin...) hehehe...

My New Blog...

The main reason for this blog is kind of lame. I take pictures of hobbies I have and then those pictures just sit in my camera because I don't want to print them out! So here goes nothing!
